Yeah, I don't like that one at all. I don't care for Guam either. The others are nice in drawing form...but who knows how they will translate to the coin.

I am soooo done with this whole commemorative quarter thing. I would like to just re-design it and move on to something static for at least a little while.

You may not agree with the choice, but that design got most of the votes back in June. There were three design suggestions - Duke Ellington, Frederick Douglass, Benjamin Banneker. Ellington made it, and so that design was suggested to the US Mint.

Oh, you mean, after the Dozens-of-National-Parks quarter series that is quite likely to come, as from 2010? :D

Really? They couldn't think of anything more important in Washington than jazz? Don't get me wrong, I love my jazz, but this is ridiculous. At least jazzcoinsjoe will be happy! :D

I would say that I uniformly hate ALL of the designs on that page, but that's not true. The Bald Eagle series isn't too bad. And I genuinely like the platinum issues.

I love the Guam quarter. Duke Ellington is a fine choice for the District. I voted for that one myself.

The CNMI one should have had a picture of a sweatshop on it.

Wow it;s about time they noticed the art form. I'm a jazz muscian I couldn't be more happy they finally are giving credit to the art form

I would have prefered John Coltrane ,but Duke deserved it, he contributed alot to the art form he was a genius

You also have to remember something people, jazz is an American art form so I guess that's why they voted that in .

I had the idea of putting some of the jazz greats on the obverse as you see in my Avatar designed by me. I'm designing my own jazzcoins all the denominations from the cent to the Dollar I had this idea along time ago. Why do you think my name is Jazzcoins?
    . I;m so happy
