If a seller doesn't accept returns, the buyer can only open a case with eBay and claim the coin isn't as described. Whose side will eBay take if it's basically the buyer's word against the seller's? Seems like the buyer would need NGC or the like to corroborate the claim.
I assumed it was a given that a business would accept returns, when an item turns out to be not as described. It's covered under consumer law in my country, anyways. When i sell items on eBay, i accept returns for any reason or no reason. When a customer simply flakes out, or changes their mind, that's kind of annoying. But a customer-centric focus builds trust & customers. And times are tough!
It's the law in every state in the USA. A seller can't disclaim the implied warranty that goods are as described.
Welp I went ahead and took a leap none the less, I guess we will find out in a few days once the item arrives. I will post up some pics once it is here.
