I have found fewer than 20 proof cents in 720 boxes searched.

I find them more often in nickel rolls. I don't remember ever finding one in a penny roll, but I don't search pennies often.
I think I have found 3 proof quarters in rolls.

I had a spate of quarter proofs, something like 10 in about $1000. Nickels, I have found maybe 10 or so. I stopped searching nickels years ago since I could never find a 39d or 50d.

I once found 5 NIFC halves in a single roll from the bank. I think somebody raided their dad's or grandpa's collection.

When I occasionally run critical errands around town, I find myself walking by banks where, before this virus came around, I would definitely have gone inside and asked for halves.

Banks limiting the number of people inside their lobbies, everyone (including me, of course) wearing masks inside, and everyone keeping their distance from each other has taken away my motivation to enter a bank atm...Anyone else experiencing this lack of motivation due to the virus and virus restrictions?

@berto Yeah. I just don't feel like getting coin boxes right now. It feels like a hassle. My pick-up bank has had their lobby closed since March, so my only option is to get coins from my dump bank, which isn't a very good option. All of the nickel boxes I have gotten from that bank have been 2019 or 2020 uncirculated :banghead:. I have resorted to looking for change on the ground when I am outside.:sour:

Ugg! Pfft! Meow would love to get paws on uncirculated rolls of 2019 or 2020 coins. That is like treasure for the Cat Hoard!

I was actually very excited to get the uncirculated 2020 nickel box. I went through the whole box and picked out the best nickel for my Whitman folder. But the actual process of going through all of the coins and comparing them was very monotonous at best. Looking back, I probably should've just pulled out a roll or two, sparing myself the time of looking at every coin.

    I've got like 14 boxes of 19P and 2 boxes of 20P. It's insane.

Ohhhh, Meow never gets the chance at P mints. But any uncirc rolls are not easy to get paws on where Meow lives. Do you have a Frog Hoard? Meow has quite the mass of various items in the cat Hoard.

I'm not intentionally hoarding them. Just boxes that I have gotten in my weekly pick ups since the virus shut everything down. I can't dump them since my dump bank is closed so they've been getting stacked in my basement until the day that normality (whatever that is anymore) returns.

Oh, if that is the case Meow would like them. Would you send them to Meow if Meow sends you a reasonable amount for your time?

I'd only want face plus whatever the cost to ship them. Send me a PM and we can figure something out :)

Meow just found this quarter with some decent feeder finger damage to the die.

CRH has been a bust for all denominations save the half dollar since the banks want to get rid of them and commercial enterprises don't want them. My credit union cut off the coin spigot back in late March with the so called coin shortage. At least their machine doesn't take any halves.

They only had $30 worth of halves so my hopes were not too high, but alas the silver Gods thought otherwise:

It has been a month since I searched halves, my supply banks are dry. Traveled to my neighboring city yesterday where I usually pick up around 4 boxes and 2 partial bags off the coin counting machines. Only managed 2 boxes and $340 in MWRs. My banks with coin machines said they only had a few dollars worth, customers aren’t cashing in coins right now. The 2 boxes only gave up 1 silver (1967). The MWRs were dumps from several different customers I was told, but one of them missed a 1987-D.

I've been struggling with nickels lately, but I did find this really nice '37 yesterday in a CWR that was mostly Jefferson Modified coins! 001.jpg 002.jpg

Picked up $466 in mostly quarters from our church sponsored thrift store, they emptied their coke machine. I search their coins, turn the coins in to the bank, and write a check to the thrift store for the face value. Saves them the hassle of counting and hauling to the bank and I get to keep the collectibles, a win-win. I was hoping to find a W quarter, no such luck. But I did find a 1959-D Roosie and a 1947-S Wheatie. Also a nice 2020-D dime for my Dansco. I’ll pick up a lot more quarters this week when they empty the gumball machine, lol.
