I have joined cointalk because I found a coin that is interesting. It has a faint circling in it near the edges. It is most visible between LIBERTY and IN. Does it have any value? I have more pictures. stroopwafeltheduck
It's called a ridge ring and is primarily found on the zinc Lincoln cents. Due to die deterioration. I wouldn't call it an error, just overuse of a die. It has no extra value There is a short explanation on the error-ref site http://www.error-ref.com/?s=ridge+ring
Like the others said, not an error or worth anything more than face. Welcome to CT though. Hope you stay around and learn and contribute. I'm so confused by your name/avatar though...
Thank you! Haha! I love chickens and ducks. It is confusing when my name is stroopwafeltheduck and there is a picture of my chicken Xochitl. stroopwafeltheduck
Not an error coin but it was produced by a worn die. Fairly common and it add no value to the coin. Welcome to CT.
Stroopwafels are a dutch treat made from thin waffles and a golden syrup, treacle, cinnamon, and caramel filling. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroopwafel stroopwafeltheduck
@Stroopwafeltheduck ...Welcome to CoinTalk! Really hard to see, pic is blurry...but kinda see what @Oldhoopster and @furryfrog02 are saying. Work on posting clear in-focus pics. Forum members don’t know new members levels of expertise, so we offer this quite often: Go to doubleddie.com and read about the die making process. A lot of great info on the site to help you. Error-ref.com will help you learn about real coin errors, and lincolncentresource.com has tons of info on all things Lincoln. Hope this is helpful to you...Spark
