pulled this from circulation last week, its in amazing condition, sorry dont have a scanner yet (and am sick of not having one) so pictures are kinda...bad, but you can see full rim front and back, all lettering clear as day, mint mark and date, face and hair still have details, same with the back, looks like someone spent some of their collection, i feel like i should get this slabbed, but i dont know how to do that, nor do i want to be parted from my coin for an amount of time so what grade would you give it (given from the not so great blackberry photos) and how would i go about getting it slabbed?
Atom, the coin is a real common coin that can be purchased at any coin shop for under $2.00. Slabbing would cost you about 20X that amount. Put it in a 2X2 and write on the 2x2 what it is, where you found it and when.
Nice pull from circulation, but I really would not be worth having it slabbed. The coin may be worth a buck or two. Hard to grade from the pics also.
let us know what you find Yes, 1945 is a common date and it looks like a common condition. It is still a nice thing to find in circulation. It is probably worth 10 times face value. Keep your eyes open for more of them and let us know what you find. Very best regards, collect89
good idea! save your money for a good coin book for reference. [look up Whitman publishing, or Red Books.]
