F/VF with a "few" problems? gotta love ebay.... http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-S-VDB-Linc...5|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50
Maybe it is just me, but that V.D.B. just does not look right. Anyone else think it is a doctored coin?
Yeah, the fact that the "1909-s" looks like sculpted balloon animals from a circus fair kind of bothers me a little.
The genuine V.D.B. on the 1909 os located off center to the left. The B. is roughly in the bottom center of the obverse. There is nothing about the date that looks real; the correct date is much narrower. Even heavy wear down to the base of the numbers wouldn't be as wide a shown here. Even IF it was a real 1909-S V.D.B. this one would be nearly worthless because of the heavy damage. Save your money for something real.
Usually I'm no good at counterfeits and coins that have been fooled with. But that 1909!! I just checked - I have that font in Word - it's called "Crapola Extra Bold"
agreed. this coin cracks me up every time I look at it. Hopefully it is just as obvious to everyone else searching for a vdb on the bay, but I'll report it anyway.
Wow that guy has alot of nerve to list that as a F to VF its more like a filler coin to me ,and should be about 50 bucks maybe. i think Ebay is really con Bay. Jazzcoins Joe
Well, the auction has closed. no one bid and eBay did nothing. However, it has been relisted here; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150316922852 Maybe we can convice eBay to do something about this one.
Can you prove it is fake and not damage? I can't. And if you can't then eBay can't really do anything about it either.
The V.D.B. is misplaced, dots are not correct and the B is not slanted as the original, the 9's are too closed and the mint mark is wrong. Is that enough proof?
Here are some play dough coins that kids made i think they look alot bett er then the play dough poop 1909 s VDB cent. Jazzcoins Joe
