This is an I.O.U. Note from Daddy and Jack's Joke Shop. It's dated 1905. They were located on Bromfield St. in Boston, MASS as noted by the stamp on the back side of the note. It's very crisp and a great addition.

Mikey likes it, at least he told me so. ;)
I think this IOU is really cool. Looks like a freshly printed note or did I miss something in translation?

Nice note! I remember there used to be a joke shop here in Sacramento back in the 1960's, unfortunately they went out of business many moons ago! I remember one of their items was a pile of fresh sht! :D My brother bought one, that was back in the days of Mad Magazine, anyone remember those days?! laughhard.gif

Crisp as the day it was printed. I'd question that it never got used by the joke shop.

The one that used to be on K Street? I can't remember the name but we would do the Saturday night cruise before they closed K St. and I seem to remember one being there.

I think it was on K Street or J Street, it was called Frank's Joke Shop. Didn't know you're from Sac, small world! :D

Frank's, yeah, I think that was the one. "From Sac" is the operative phrase. Graduated from El Camino High 63, then A.F. for 4 years, then careers in Sac until retiring in 2004 and leaving California for good.

Okay, that's too bad. That said, there's a whole lotta reasons why one would leave for sure, can't argue about that! You're probably a lot safer health wise as well! :D
