Guess the grade: WLH & Merc. Dime

Here are two coins rzage gave to me. So lets play some guess the grade!
I know the mercury dimes grade and I will reveal it after I get some guesses. The walker I dont so I need some opinions. :smile

Really nice coins. A bit tough from the scans to see the luster but here is my guess. The merc ms64 maybe fb but middle band is hard to tell and the Walker a nice ms64 maybe ms65. Looks like rzage got you some nice coins.

 

He forgot to mention he helped me get a book from Heritage on coin grading free , I had no idea how to access the link . He's an up an coming YN .

Hard to tell from the pics. I'll say the Merc is a 64 or 65 no FSB.
The Walker is even harder to tell from the pics. I can't tell if there is wear on the obverse. I'll say AU-55 or 58 if there is, MS-64 if not.
Great additions to your collection!

 

There is no breaks in luster or wear so AU is pretty much out of the question. Yeah I think they are really cool additions to my ever growing collection. The mercury dime is my first slabbed coin.

 

Well your a generous dude because those are great coins. I love that Merc

 

Now parley that into a gold coin by making a geat exhibit of that Merc!

I say that the merc is MS-66 FSB, and my initial "gut" feeling with the walker is MS-63

 

I know what you mean. But from the picture, it is hard to say if all of the detail is present on the center of the obverse.
But, I'll take your word for it and say go with my grade of MS64.

 

I just added a poll for the Walker grade.

You have to post much better pics then that for us to really determine the grade what do you think we have exray vision. Well i will give it a shot The MEcury is a MS64 with FBL and nice toning the walker is an MS64 and that;s not with exray vision either

Merc I know the grade , but I'll say MS-64 on the Walker .

The mercury dime is MS67 no split bands.

 

Freaky - nice coins no matter what! MS-67 Mercs are a great addition to anyones collection!

 

I think it's over graded they gave a high grade with no FBL that don't make sence. I guess alot of these graders are drinking heavy on the job laterly

Believe me it's not over graded , it's well struck on front and back just doesn't have FB , there's hardly a mark on her , and you yourself said you needed better pics to grade it . Also a FSB have nothing to do with a coins grade .

I will guess 65 on the walker. What ever it is, I really like that coin.
