Normally i spend alot of money buying GORGEOUS pieces, but letely ive decided to make a toned coin collection... Today i picked up a 1969 PROOF, wih lustrious toning... For under a dollar, you cant beat that... Although in the pictures it doesnt look proof, belive me in hand its a mirror, looks almost cameo.... tell me what you think.... also tell me how you think this coin toned like this....
I think it was toned that way useing Heat---the coin might have been placed ontop of a light-bub, and then allowed to sit for a few min's. Then it was flipped over and allowed to sit again. Speedy
If I knew people would pay .80 for a cooked coin, I'd been cooking all year .. Hmm...a new hobby is formed...thanks for the idea. EDITED--lets leave politics out of this.
no matter how it got toned it was less than a dollar, and a beautiful coin... if you had it in your hand you would love it.... full mirror deep perfect fields, i dont care how i got toned... but in the shop i got it at, there was not 1 coin tht looked like this, in a huge group of proof penny's... regardless i love it...
I agree. You can't go wrong for that price. Also, I know artificial toning is undesirable, but some of it is very nice! Great coin either way.
