The 2008 (2007) edition of "The guide book of united states coins" mentions presidential proof dollars also being available in silver. Is this true? I've never seen one on the market, and it doesn't appear in future editions. I'd like to know. Anyone have any information?

    That is a typo.
The Mint had said that they were going to issue them, and the Guide Book was released based no that info.
Then the mint decided that they were not gong to do silvers.

This is correct. They had us believing we were going to have silver presidents...but they never did it.
