How many coins have you bought at melt that look like this one? I certainly don't see them at that price. I didn't buy the coin as anything collectable and it was in my silver dollar pile for silver but it was way better shape than the other coins.
I know Morgans. I don’t need to check. The coin is really in rocky shape. Will NOT straight grade. Just because sucker buyers pay moon money for details coins does not vindicate value.
Have I ever said it would straight grade? Stop being such a snob about your vast Morgan knowledge you claim to possess. Looking at this coin in hand with a loupe it does not look "rocky"
Grow up? I suggest you read some of the earlier posts before you make snide comments. It was in a stack of bullion type silver dollars and bought that way. Does that sound like a sucker buy to you? Why be nasty to people on here?
Because you’re not listening to many experienced collectors that are saying the coin has minimum or no numismatic value. I was constructive and realistic about the coin, until you pulled an attitude about having your coin critiqued. Hey, can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Part of learning about coins is knowing when you bought a winner, and when you didn’t. I am merely being honest—it is a significantly damaged coin.
My comment was in response to "Melt Value". Some of these coins have sold on eBay for far more than melt value @ $21.00. The OP originally asked for grade and value and that is what I offered.
would I have expected anything different. Enough rambling on and on about a coin that's not grade worthy.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I say a coin in hand is worth a thousand pictures, after all, that is how TPG's grade coins. The proof that pictures do not always tell the story is in the two sets of photos. Had the second set been offered rather than the first, I suspect opinions would have been different, but that is only my opinion.
