I don't think I've seen any 2020 coin yet, but I rarely see the current year until April, and with the COVID-19 I've only used my credit card since March.

Been to so many banks, and bought so many rolls and boxes where I live and no 2020 of any denomination. On the way home from the beach, stopped to buy lunch at a fast food place and got 4 pennys and two dimes 2020. SMH..

Southern Arizona, Tucson to be exact. It is hot here. We have broken or tied our high for something like 6 days in a row! We must get all our coins via the Denver mint.

I'm in Ohio close to the Philly mint so that explains it,you would have thought a few D,s would have made their way up here by now tho!!

I'm thinking this year may produce a few low mint or semi rare examples, given the pandemic situation and all!! Any opinions on that?

Considering they are on track to produce MORE coins this year than last year, I don't think so.

    2020 (So far)
    Cents P 2. billion D 2.3 Billion
    Nickels P 396 Million 439 million
    Dimes P 727 million D 762 million
Quarters P 784 million D 743 million Total so far this year 8.2 billion after 7 months.
If they keep production at the current rate they will make about 14 billion coins this year

    2019
    Cents P 3.5 billion D 3.5 billion
    Nickels P 568 million D 527 million
    Dimes D 1.1 billion D 1 billion
    Quarters P 791 million D 860 million
Total for the year 11.9 billion

Good info I tried googling the mintage it just kept giving me other info on coins no numbers, being mid August and given the scarcity of circulation , obviously I came to the wrong deduction, thanks for clearing that up! So answer me this what happened with 2009 D nickel I assumed it was because of them minting the 4 different Lincoln cents is this so?

At the end on 2008 due to the housing collapse the economy went into a serious recession. In order to make ends meet a tremendous number of people deposited their change stashes. This resulted in the Federal Reserve being overrun with coinage. With so many coins on hand they determined that they now had enough supply on hand that they would not need to order any more nickels and dimes fro the rest of the year. They passed that information along to the mint and they ceased production of those coins I believe sometime in March 2009. The fed also had plenty of the other coins as well but the 2009 cents and quarters were "special" issues so their production continued. But if you look at the mintages you will find that the mintages for the cents and quarters were also greatly curtailed. in 2007 Philadelphia struck 3.8 billion cents, in 2008 2.6 billion, but in 2009 with four designs that were expected to be popular the total mintage was only 1.1 billion. The LP4 mintage was only 129 million. Denver was the same way 2007 3.6 billion 2008 2.8 billion, 2009 just 1.2 billion.

The quarters were even worse the TOTAL 2009 mintage for both mints was 637 million for 6 designs. (the 2009 P Northern Mariana Islands was only 35 million) The 2008 Hawaii alone was 517 million. Total for 2008 was 2 billion. There just wasn't a need for new coins in 2009.

The link to find the circulation coin production figures at the US Mint is

I heard rumors a couple of years ago that many of them ended up in Puerto Rico. I don't know how true that is, though.
