DSC00326.jpg DSC00324.jpg Does the rim of this '66 LMC have a generally accepted description?
I can then file it in the right context with "For future reference" coins.
    Thanks

Folded over Finned Rim that was caused by the light Misaligned Die Strike. The Finning was folded over and smoothed during curculation.

But it's important to remember that is not the only way, or time, finning occurs. Dies can be perfectly aligned and finning can still occur. It can occur as result of a thick planchet, and or excess pressure during the strike. In those instances metal is pushed into and beyond the gap between the dies and the collar resulting in finning.
