...and the World coin craze continues! I found three of these in the batch I've been working on (made sure and point that out to the boss so I'd get a better price). All XF-AU IMHO.
Hard glossy brown with tinges of red and a lower mintage date to boot. I took this one home today.

So the World collection is growing and it's much cheaper than U.S. Fits my budget pretty well right now.

Nice dip into the darkside, come to the darkside!

Just a suggestion, the 5 cent coin is squarish and a neat little coin too. I like my Dutch coins though, spesh the old gold stuff.

Yes, that is nice - and still being minted by the Dutch mint. :) Not for use in Europe any more but the Netherlands Antilles 5 cent coin (1957-70) and the 50 cent piece from there (1989-) have the same shape and even pretty much the same look as the old (1913-43) Dutch piece. Currently they are still in circulation (that may change in about a year when the Neth. Antilles are split up) and thus fairly cheap ...

I traded for some from our friend in Netherlands sometime back. They are a pain to find in nice condition, they were usually well used.

Oddly enough one of my first coins was indeed a Dutch 5 Cent piece. My great aunt gave me one when I was but a child.

I'll never forget it as my dad would go on business trips and often bring a coin or two home with him. One day he said he had one I had probably never seen and I asked "is it a square nickel?".
The look on my dad's face was sort of a "how in the hell did he know?" look.

That was about 40 years ago.

All that happened to you was we provided a little shade to get the light out of your eyes -
so you could see the beauty of the dark ;)
