I found a large number of identical die cracks in a roll of 2009 P LP3's. There is a die crack going straight down the middle of Lincolns forehead, along the nose and through his mouth. And, there is another crack running out from his left toe. I haven't searched all on my LP3's yet, but have quite a few right now from the same roll.

Some of them have a die crack on the forehead of the obverse side just above the eye. Here are a couple of examples.

OK, I'll going crazy. I found the identical forehead cracks on 2 2009 D coins. Both P and D dies with the same crack?

The 2009-D with the same crack is interesting. I wonder if that’s a weak spot? I couldn’t tell exactly from 2009 if it was a match. Is it?

It is real close. It is late for me right now. But I will get my Stereo microscope out tomorrow and get some better looks. Thanks for the help here Dan.

I don’t know who said I know a lot, but they lied to you:(! Have a good night. I enjoy your coins.

I checked out a roll of D Mint. I found several with the same crack. Plus most of them seem to have a spike coming off the toe. I'm posting one example for right now.

That’s neat. To have the same issue from different mints really makes it look like it may be a weak area of the dies with that design.

I found several in my 2009 D lots. I tried to pick a good one to photo. It seems that the Die Markers are not the same as on the 2009 P.

@Danomite Does it look like the 2009 D has two cracks running down the face?

That’s what I thought but wasn’t sure if was just a reflection in the picture.

I'll try to focus on that and get back.

This D mint splits at the bridge of the nose. One goes straight up and one shoots off to the right forehead.
