Hello, For a personal research abount dies please post your coins from Ostia Mint issued during the Constantine period of the mint, please no maxentius coins so Constantinus, Licinius and Maximinus coins. Thank you
this is a scarcer variety with two flags on the vexillum, versus one on center only. Constantine I A.D. 312-313 22mm 4.1gm IMP C CONSTANTINVS P F AVG; laureate and cuirassed bust right. SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI; Legionary eagle (to the left) between two vexilla, that on left surmounted by a right hand, that on right by a wreath; flag on the eagle and left vexillum. in ex MOSTS RIC VI Ostia 94
Licinius I (Augustus) Coin: Bronze AE3 IMP LICINIUS PF AVG - laureate, cuirassed bust right S P Q R OPTIMO PRINCIPI - Aquila between two standards Exergue: Mint: Ostia (312-313 AD) Wt./Size/Axis: 4.29g / 22mm / - References RIC VI 95b
Also a Licinus, laureate and draped: 19 x 21 mm, 4.756 g Ostia, 312-313 AD, mint mark MOSTQ RIC VI 95b
Here's a rare one... I've only been able to find one other in many hours of internet searching (seems to be an obverse but not a reverse die match). There is a similar coin (RIC 75) with just a cuirassed bust that is rare itself but with a draped & cuirassed bust this coin goes from rare to very rare. Maximinus II Obv: IMP MAXIMINVS PF AVG. Laureate, draped & cuirassed bust right Rev: GENIO POP ROM. Genius standing left, holding cornucopiae & patera from which water flows. Mintmark MOSTT Ref: RIC VI Ostia 77a. 312-313 ad Edit: I saw you mentioned no Maxentius... but missed the part about a Constantine controlled mint. This coin was issued under Maxentius... so not what you're looking for but still a fun coin.
Constantin I. 306–337 Ae, Follis. Ostia 312-3 IMP C CONSTANTINVS P F AVG Laureate bust right S P Q R OPTIMO PRINCIPI Legionary eagle between 2 standards MOST RIC VII p.410 94
