I fill a tough spot in my wheat book tonight.. had picked up a couple $5 wheat rolls at my local flea market this weekend (we have 2 coin booths which is cool as the nearest coin shop is a good 40-50miles away) 2 very unexpected things came out of these rolls that will have me back there next Saturday to buy some more... 1st in 2 rolls the oldest penny was 1939 no 40s or 50s at all... that alone is enough to get me to buy a few more but as I said I filled a tough spot tonight... Not a great coin but good enough to fill an empty space until i can find/afford better :D... Tonights find... 1931d :D 20200810_214509.jpg 20200810_214520.jpg

Environmental damage, but a nice find nonetheless. Congrats. Definitely not bad at all for a bulk lot of Wheaties from the flea market.

I never get tired of showing off the coin below, which I found in a bulk Wheat cent lot in 2006. Many of the coins in the lot had been harshly cleaned to an unnatural orange. Then there was this one, which seemingly hadn't been messed with. There was a little piece of dirt covering the mintmark.

Hey, I was happy enough to find an XF 1914(-P) cent in there. But when I got a toothpick and removed the piece of scuzz from below the date, I shouted in surprise.

"D" doesn't just stand for "dirt"!

So I bought this for less than a nickel. It graded XF40 at PCGS. Sold it in the range of $700 or so. That was one of my best cherrypicks.

    Keep hunting! Good luck!

I hoping hehe got a sealed bankroll (NY state) of BU 55 p's inbound (that I paid too much for) Now wouldn't that be a nice find lol

Those are fun in BU even when there's no doubling.
