How thrifty are Scots?

Since this involves money and I’m of Scottish descent I will share a few thoughts on Scottish thriftiness.

Rumor has it copper wire was invented when 2 Scots found a penny.

or the Grand Canyon was formed when a Scot dropped a nickel down a gopher hole....

Two friends, one Irish and the other a Scot took a vacation in Mexico. They rented a car and then went to a cantina for lunch. They gorged on tacos, bean burritos and chimichangas then decided to take a drive into the desert.
After a few hours the combination of Mexican food and Mother Nature began to take its effect and they desperately began to search for a bathroom. Finally they see a 2 seater outhouse in a field and they come to a screeching stop in front of it and rush in.
As the Scot is dropping his pants a few coins fall out of his pocket and fall into the hole.
After he finished, the Scot pulls 2 crisp $100 bills from his wallet and drops them in the hole.
His Irish friend watches in horror and asks, “Why did you do that?”
The Scot looks at him and replied, “ Surely you don’t think I’m going down there for just 15 cents, do ya?” C56A85E7-7CE4-406F-9747-5FF2BE580D6D.jpeg

    A True Scot
They say that a "True Scot" in North America is one whose ancestors came from Scotland - but who were born in North America to save the fare...

My granddaddy told me when I was but a wee lad that I was half scotch and half bourbon.

Chip, you're a gem........If a 'square head' (such as I) were to put forth such stories, he'd be ridiculed and admonished for political in-correctness. It's well nice to see someone still has a sense of humor and is able to poke a little fun at himself ........(good manners matter)

BTW, I like Johnny Walker Red

When it gets cold in Scotland, the whole family gathers around the candle.

When it gets really cold, they light it.

I'm only part Scottish but I'll turn an almost empty bottle upside down so it drains into the almost full bottle. Can't let a drop go to waste. :)

I heard the same story years ago except it was over a $20 bill. It shows what inflation has done to the value of money.

This Irishman loves poking a few jokes at the scots. what’s the difference between The Rolling Stones and a Scotsman? The Rolling Stones say hey you get offa my cloud. The Scotsman says hey McCloud get offa my ewe
