I need your help in locating a German dealer

    Hello everyone,

A strange thing happened today: I got in the mail two coins that I have not paid for. Let me explain a bit: last week I sent two offers on MA-Shops to a German dealer and collector named Andre Cichos. We arrived at an understanding for a price for both coins and posting so I asked him to kindly send an invoice so I can pay. After that, complete silence. No reply either on MA-Shops messages, my emails nor his ebay account (yes, I also wrote to him there). So I figured the man changed his mind and nearly forgot about it.

Today though, the two coins arrived in the mail. So Andre not only sent me unpaid items but he clearly did so with great expediency.

I have immediately emailed him to thank him and ask for his paypal details to settle this score, to no avail. Concerned that he might not understand English, I wrote him in German explaining the situation and asking for instructions but again no reply.

So, if any of you kind people who know him, have had contact and have bought from him in the past, know of a way to get a hold of him, could you please let me know?

I have also tried calling him at the MA-Shops number attached during business hours but nobody picked up.

I just hope the guy is safe and healthy and must admit this gesture of trust was rather touching.

Thank you for any info you could provide.

I don’t know him but I guess you have the sender postal address. Worst case I can try to reach him out via post.

I'm a regular person, but I got humbled today by the trust of this man in a complete stranger.

If I get no reply digitally I will eventually try to write to him the old-fashioned way at his office.

Did you log into your MA Shops account to check on the status of the two coins? Since you did not receive an invoice from him, you could pay for the coins through Paypal, either directly through your Paypal account or through the MA shops link for the two coins.

I assume the seller has a Paypal account, and that his email address is his Paypal ID. I don't know if you need to factor in shipping, or if the shipping was no fee, but you could add an estimated amount if there's supposed to be a shipping fee, or you could pay that later, assuming you are again in contact with him.

If you use Paypal be sure to list the two coins, by description and MA Shops item number in your payment to the seller. That way there will be no misunderstanding.

If you do receive an invoice from the seller, you will have the Paypal receipt as proof of payment.

One other possibility is that the seller is on holiday and out of the office. It's that time of the year, so you might want to give him until the end of this month or early September to get back to you. If you don't hear back by then, then initiate a Paypal payment at your end.

Judging by the last name, the seller is probably Spanish or Portuguese.

Another weird thing is that although the coins are shown in my profile as bought, if I press on the link I get sent to other different coins that I did not buy. There is no invoice in my MA-Shops account and apart from the initial contact where he agreed with my offers, I got no reply from him about settling the score.

If you click on the links for the two coins shown as bought in you MA Shops account, is there a Paypal link? If there is, you could pay that way.

However, I would give this matter some time. When did you receive the coins?

I have received them this morning, immediately wrote to him by his MA-Shops-listed email address and then called the Bestellhotline number, hoping I'd get put through to him during German business hours.

Don't give yourself so much trouble. You just keep the coins and keep quiet. Well maybe you should change your name, probably move from your place to get another address, close your bank account and also get a new phone number. The poor guy won't be able to trace you ! Just think about it: 2 new free coins, absolutely gratos...

In your MA Shops account, go to bought items on MA Shops and select view order: items for the seller and coins in question from the list. Also, see if the [IMG] is green or red. Green means payment received, red not received (which should be the case for these coins). You should see a Paypal option at the bottom, such as this example:

That link should enable you to pay for the coin. Since you ordered two you may need to do this twice, unless he combined the two coins into one order.

Everything there is red, including the sent/received items. As I mentioned earlier, there is also the fact that when I click on the coins it sends me not to the actual listings of the two coins bought but to other different coins. There is also no paypal option, meaning a button that I can press like "pay now" on ebay. I'll also write to MA-Shops, perhaps there is a problem with my account.

More likely a glitch on the part of MA Shops or an error by the seller, I think.

I have to say well done sir to @seth77 . This is why I like our area of the hobby, seems more genteel and less wheeler dealer than some other areas like PM investing. :)

Good for you doing the right thing sir.

The way I see things, and I'm sure many of us think the same thing, in this rather small field of interest we should want to keep the good dealers and auctioneers spinning their wheels for as long as possible. And that means paying them fairly and making sure from our end that they get what they deserve justly. It's also in our best interest that they are around for as long as possible.

Never have had any issues with m-a shops and by now I have probably purchased 40-50 coins from their dealers. (I'm not really counting). Hopefully you will get it squared away soon and he will receive his remuneration.
