    64 Nickels

My departed husband had a whole mess of these. Like 300 or so...being confused as I am...what do I do with them? Take em to the local coinstar machine?
May I take this opportunity to ask for advice on the coins in my album? Or would that be out of order? OOPs too late I already asked. Forgive me as I am not very used to the boards.

    Advice please.

So..as I said in previous post I have a ton of these. Proofs, in what I have learned are called 2X2's should I take em to coinstar machine? Or are they worth posting to sell?

Confused - are you sure they are proofs and have 300 of them in 2x2 holders ? or are they just nice looking nickels. if they are proofs then i would think they be worth selling (maybe in small groups) if they are just common 64 nickels i would say just spend them unless they are in super excellent condition.

any pictures would help this thread here for others to look at

the coinstar machine question always makes me remember when i was at school when kids i knew would throw their pennies away then the next day ask me for some money because they dont have any. make me go Hmmmm ? is something missing here

But getting a well struck 1964 Jefferson is a bit of a problem.
High production meant poorer quality control.

Not knowing exactly what you have, it's a little difficult giving advice on individual coins. If you're unknowledgeable on coins, your best bet may be to take them to a couple of dealers and see if they can help. If the album is large, you should only take a small group at a time. If you took the whole thing, the dealer might not have time to look it over and you'd have to leave it with him. Not a good idea.

DON'T take them to CoinStar. You'd be better off just spending any common coins.

If you want our help we'd need an inventory of just what you have. Photos would help but descriptions are a good start.

davidh, she has some pictures of her coins in the gallery. Please take a look and see if you can help her out. I don't have much experience selling myself, so hopefully someone more knowledgeable than myself can help her figure out the best way to get the most money for the coins :)
