    Shots at an angle are always difficult to judge anything from give us a couple at 90 degrees.

    Your 2nd set of photos are too small to see anything. In the 1st set, judging by the pics, I can't see any doubling. Maybe it's the reflection that causes you to see the doubling. Possibly you can point out the area where you see it.

    With a brand new coin? Not much time for the die to deteriorate.

    The first press is the best and it goes downhill from there. Looks like the early stage of DD to me. Also, there is reflected light adding to the illusion and notice how the glare is absent in a couple of photos. IMO.

    The age of the coin has nothing to do with the length of time that the die was used.

    The coin can be brand new and out of a roll that is uncirculated. The Die that minted that coin could have minted millions before it. It's from a worn die.

    DDD. It doesn't take long for the dies to wear at the number they produce, plus the nickel is a bit harder metal, so takes a toll on the dies.
