I recently cleared out my departed Fathers safe. He collected since the 50’s, and passed the bug to me when I was a kid. I have ID’d all the random gold coins from around the world (only a couple...don’t bother tracking me down, won’t be worth the gas money...) except for this one. I have no idea what it’s story is, and am only assuming it’s gold because it was with other gold. Really don’t know. Any ideas?
I think it may be a promotional or fund raising type of medal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin_Radio_Tower
Dimensions? @micbraun @Rheingold @Eduard @chrisild do any of you recognize this? I couldn't find anything on Ma Shops or Germany Ebay.
I couldn’t find it anywhere. @rvajay I believe your assumption that it’s gold is wrong. If it was gold, it would be listed on web sites such as Numista.com. It could be brass or gold-plated.
I know, and I am not professing that it is gold. It was in a grouping of gold coins that belonged to a very knowledgeable collector, which is why I assumed it be. That being said, the lack of any available info is certainly suspect. Of course I am rooting for it to be gold, but I really don’t know.
Not sure, but made an offer on bullion value. Not selling anything, just curious as to it’s origin as I have not been able to find anything. I just like to know things.
