I recently cleared out my departed Fathers safe. He collected since the 50’s, and passed the bug to me when I was a kid.

I have ID’d all the random gold coins from around the world (only a couple...don’t bother tracking me down, won’t be worth the gas money...) except for this one.

I have no idea what it’s story is, and am only assuming it’s gold because it was with other gold. Really don’t know. Any ideas?

Can you weigh it? I couldn't find a gold medal for the radio tower in my searches.

I like it too. Can't wait to find out it's origin... looks like gold to me. Good luck

8g+/-, small .900 below the bear, so should be 1/4 oz TGW

    Dimensions?
@micbraun @Rheingold @Eduard @chrisild do any of you recognize this? I couldn't find anything on Ma Shops or Germany Ebay.

I couldn’t find it anywhere. @rvajay I believe your assumption that it’s gold is wrong. If it was gold, it would be listed on web sites such as Numista.com. It could be brass or gold-plated.

Here is a magnified image of the 900 below the bear.

It says “900” not “.900 fine gold”. Just sayin’.

I know, and I am not professing that it is gold. It was in a grouping of gold coins that belonged to a very knowledgeable collector, which is why I assumed it be. That being said, the lack of any available info is certainly suspect. Of course I am rooting for it to be gold, but I really don’t know.

I'm curious to see the other gold coins...

For what it’s worth, it is confirmed gold by my LCS. No additional info.

What was used to confirm? XRF or a rub test?

Not sure, but made an offer on bullion value. Not selling anything, just curious as to it’s origin as I have not been able to find anything. I just like to know things.
