    The photo makes the edge irregularity look like it might be ancient from the mint rather than damage when dug up. Correct?

    It is curious to me how that large wedge shaped flan flaw on the obverse isn't carried-through to the reverse image.

    I grabbed the obv photo and lightened it... The reverse side of the wedge isn't as wedge-y.
