OK I know not up to @galba68 wonderful finds......But still been fun... Bit of a mix.....General cival war bullets, a lovely silver officers button from around 1842, a couple more bronze buttons. Belt buckle, thimble, lead balls and a nice piece of ceramic...Couple of pretty amulets and a wonderful old bronze earring with red stone-Maybe Roman or at least medieval... Then I returned to an area where I knew there were Roman coins and picked up a few.. Was hoping to try and ID at least the ruler so any help or feedback appreciated.. Not in the best condition but it's a nice feeling when you pull them out of the ground. Coin 1 (17.5mm) ..... Looks to be an Augustus? Reverse shot! but the portraits quite nice. Coin 2 (18mm)..Constantine with fallen horseman reverse? Coin 3 (16mm)...Constantine ...Reverse?..SMA in exergue.. Coin 4 (15mm).....No idea but the reverse looks good - Eagle.
I believe you are correct... Roman Legionary field testing ...early use in launching Roman SLING STONES. Roman Sling Stone 200 BCE - 400 CE Almond Shaped PB lead 37x14mm 41.2g Roman Sling Stone 200 BCE - 400 CE Almond Shaped PB lead 34x14mm 42.4g
The other coins look like Constantius II / FH type small late AE3/4, Constantine I / campgate type and unknown Severan empperor / probably Marcianopolis in Moesia Inferior with eagle reverse.
