1993 D Washington Quarter, Amazing Die Cracks?

My Pops gave me this quarter last night. It's in really great shape. but what stands out to me are the die cracks. Am I seeing this right or is it damage?
Going from the back of the eagles head through the wing, then up and between F and A.
Also from the right corner of the bust through pony tail and ribbon with another that comes up to the mint mark.

"Really great shape" is not a numismatic descriptive, and there is nothing amazing about those die cracks. The coin has seen wear from circulation, and die cracks are just the result of an overworked die. ~ Chris

 

Welcome to CT, Tracy. Two of those look like die breaks, but I'm not sure about the I and T. That could be damage.

Was your father a coin collector?

I just haven't seen a coin with die cracks like that yet, or a 199anything that wasn't beat to death. Still learning a lot.
No, my dad is not a collector, he had some coins left over from a garage sale he was going have. We went through them and he gave them to me.

Perfectly acceptable term for a non-collector or even a new collector. Experienced collectors get really anal about the terms. Look online for "coin grading"

 

He will laugh at that!! I guess he kind of is, he buys old cars and when we gut them we always find older coins. He has given those to me as well, but most of them are in terrible shape. I just 35 in June. I started metal detecting in November, finding coins in the ground I starting them up, one obsession turned into another. I have been furlough since end of May, so this has been how I've spent my time.

Welcome to CT! I definitely see two die cracks: the one through the F and A from the eagle's wing, and the one from George Washington's portrait to the rim. The second one is sometimes called a "spiked head," and many of these varieties are listed here: http://cuds-on-coins.com/washington-quarter-spike-heads-1932-1999/ Your example in particular is not listed (it's always fun to find one like that). I would keep it!

I have metal detected for quite a few years now, but only casually and I haven't been to many sites. Lately, I have even been metal detecting my yard! Someone used it as a place to plink targets, so lots of bullets and casings. Though, I found an old horseshoe or mule shoe the other day! You never know what might be right beneath your feet. I know that I and many others would love to see your finds!

Finding coins inside old cars sounds very adventurous. Can't wait to hear what else you find!

Yes! I bought a house beginning of the year, so of course I had to go dirt fishin!! I also found a mule shoe!! and my first wheat cent!!! I have a whole shelf of just things form my yard, old tools, hotwheels (which i collect also) 1950's Ronson lighter.
I found a counterfeit Rolex the other day with two replacement bands. Just before my metal detector said it's final wekekekekewwkkwkwkwkkdjfblahhhhh....I was surprised it lasted as long as it did. I got my money's worth out of it.
