Was buying some BU lincon cents for my albums at the local coin shop and a guy comes in with the biggeat smile on his face. My dealer goes and greets him with a casual "How you doing today?" The guy goes "Never better I just found the king of quarters in my change!" My coin dealer smiles back and says "well lets look at it" The guy then pulls out this crusty 2002 louisiana state quarter. My dealer looks at it with the straightest face ive ever seen. My dealer asks "How much were you looking for it?" The man still with that big smile says "Two Grand" My dealer ask "Where in gods green earth did you get that number?" The guy pulls ups a etsy listing for a quarter for 2k and my dealer says "Get in Contact with the seller Ill sell him 4 rolls for half that." The guy gets pissed off and storms out the store calling my coin dealer ingnorant after my dealer told him it waa just a quarter. Me and my dealer looked at each other and start laughing. Its a shame these bogus etsy and ebay listings fool people.
But there had to be something (although probably of no value) that made him think that it was special. Wonder what it was.
I forgot to mention it in the story he saw the date it enteted the union and thought it was that old.
True. If they can be bothered to look at a listing online they should be smart enough to take another minute or two and look for more information

The first time it's funny, the tenth time not so funny, the 50th time not funny at all. And it just keeps happening. Think about it. How many times have we had to tell someone here that no they don't have a copper 43 cent, or 69 S DDO, or 1982 D small date copper, copper nickels dimes and quarters etc. And how many of them have then argued telling us we don't know what we are talking about. It stops being funny pretty quickly.
