  1. Double Die

Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

While I am not a foreign coin collector, I did come across this one in a box of mixed items. Since I do have some smarts though, I decided to look it up and see if there was anything special about it before I tossed it aside. I am definitely glad I did.

With only a mintage of 500K, the rarity factor on this one is high. I give it a
VG to EF grade but would like to hear what others have to say on that. As well as what the value on this would be since I have no clue? Any help you can provide on this would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    GH#75 Trying to get 8 hours of sleep in 4. . .

    I'd give it a VF - 20.

500,000 is not rare. 1-10 is rare. Very nice cherry pick. From my 2019 Krause catalog shows...

    grade/value I would also guess VF20

    F12-$45.00 VF20-$80.00 XF40-$170.00 MS60-$1,200.00

I'm not trying to be negative, but has the color of your coin been photoshopped? It looks awfully yellow. I'm curious because my 1916 is (NGC) XF40BN, and it's the same color as a Hershey's Kiss.

Like @spirityoda said, it's not considered rare, but it is a key date. ~ Chris

Well, since @Double Die has twice ignored my question, I can only assume that he played with Photoshop or some other program to play with the color. ~ Chris

My guess is that his coin was cleaned at some point for it to be that color. This coin is made out of bronze.

Not to be technical, but it is called "Doubled Die".

Yes, that is the point. Driving all the purists crazy. Just ask @paddyman98

That would do it since he is an error specialist.
