$5 CHERRYPICK turns into thousands!

I do not agree with the DDO assessment. Check the date ( esp. 9 and 7) here:

with their little magnifier. Compare the thickness of the vertical part of 7 compared to the horizontal ;and the top of the 9 and inner curl as far as separation. IMO. Jim

It looks like you found one but either the pics are terrible or the coin is not in a great condition. I'd be more in the $500 range but that's a nice increase from $5.

 

I never made any confirmation about any die markers. The only thing talked about in the email was the presence of something in the area of where a die chip could be found.

"The crescent shaped gouge appears to be in the correct place. It could be a coincidence or it could be the real thing.
I think if someone who knows the series and diagnostics took an inhand look they would be able to tell for sure."

My following sentence in the email suggested sending the coin to one of the TPG's for authentication.

"I honestly think you should send it to PCGS, but Anacs or NGC would be a great alternative as well."


The photo wasn't clear enough to distinguish if it was the real die chip or if it was something else in that area.

 

PCGS for sure. I want the highest possible value for it when selling and a PCGS gold shield will most likely bring in the most profit. Should I attempt to get it CAC'd though?!? I don't really know how those stickers work to be honest...

or at least update the 1969 S DDO thread with a picture of your coin in a slab. Since I have not heard of any new discoveries, I think you have a trashed reputation and egg all over your face.
