So I get up this morning, head downstairs to breakfast and to take all of my coins from all over the globe back upstairs (dad gets cranky if they're there too long), and my dad comes in and says "Those are some pretty cool coins, I have another couple you might like." I'm completely baffled because I thought I had all of the coins our family has collected (cause I'm the only one really interested in them), and he comes out of his room with a handful of coins. In his hand: A bunch of euros A Chucky Cheese token A 1921 Pilgrim Half Dollar!!!!! My dad has a strange sense of humor, but that Pilgrim half made my eyes explode!! I didn't know he'd been holding out on me! He had no idea what it was or its value, and frankly, I don't know the latter, but I was sooo pumped to add this to the collection!! And I'm going metal detecting in a little too!!! Hopefully today will yield some good finds.
Neat Pilgrim. Have fun metal detecting. A friend of mine was into metal detecting. Not sure he ever found any money other than a few modern coins but did find a number of Civil war things, mainly bullets
Thanks!! We found $0.83 in 30 minutes, hahaha. not terrible, considering it was around an area where hardly anyone ever goes. It was all post-1988 though, so no silver. Maybe next time!
Maybe only 83 cents, but think of it this way. Another 100 trips and you can afford a few nice old coins. Better luck next time.
Nice half! Thats a date in field version. From what I can see, maybe AU. At least a $100 coin, minimum. Great find from your dad! Guy~
wooooooooo!!! all of the details are there on the reverse, it's just a bad pic = \ Thanks for the info!!
Take your time detecting, some days are good others not quite as good. But, you'll make 'that find' soon enough.
