Just wanted to share my recent big time cherrypick! :)

Paid $4.99 w/ free shipping for a coin worth $2,000+!!!!!

1917 DDO FS-101, Stage B, AU DETAILS (Cleaned)

(Pics are not great as usual, but good enough to see some solid pics of notching and doubling.)

Not sure where he is getting that $2,000 price though, Yes it is high grade sharkness but it is a very ugly coin, Would probably price out around the Fine level, a couple hundred.

I think $3-500nto the right buyer and agree the coin is not aesthetically pleasing.

Nice coin for $5. I highly doubt it would command the $2k you are saying.

Reminded me of a song. "Dream, dream, dream." But then that's just me. LOL It is still a nice find for cheap cost.

You haven't even seen the reverse yet lol.

Grade at the Fine level?! Not a chance. It would grade XF DETAILS at the very worst and that's only if all 3 graders were pissed and hungry, and I don't think that will happen if you could see the coin in hand. The harsh old cleaning and then the splotchy re-tone makes it so ridiculous shiny and much much harder to photograph. And yes, THIS COIN IS NOT PRETTY.

But I'll for sure get some money for it though. Definitely over a G all day, and way higher if I sell on eBay with the skills that got me this little guy. :)

    Time will tell....pretty psyched though.

My 1909 VDB MPL in PR50ish, L.D.S., has not been submitted yet and probably won't be for some time.

@robec confirmed my die markers a few months back in an e-mail, so things are looking very good. Plus, I already know that it is. I've been showing some local numismatistssss lol.

Yeah, as my wife keeps reminding me, you haven't made anything until you actually sell it!

I’d clean it again to make sure it’s actually doubling, not dirt :)

If they were still alive and kicking, one would think that the likes of Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett and Theodore Roosevelt, would all welcome one of this 21st century's fellow great hunters to sit at their table. Please take a well deserved bow, Hunting Rare. Your finds never cease to amaze. Keep them coming!

I DIDN'T realize until recently that coins can sell for the amount on Ebay...they love rarities and errors...smart purchase...!

Didn't say GRADE at Fine, said PRICE OUT at that level. In other words would sell for about what a problem free Fine coin would bring.

Ahh I see....Yeah the coin is very ugly and cleaned but since the variety is very rare and especially in this grade......I should be able to get much more than 3-5 hundred dollars. We'll see...
