I found the following on eBay:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/1893-Isabella-Commemorative-Quarter-Columbian-Expo_W0QQitemZ320321243293QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item320321243293&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A15|39%3A1|240%3A1318

I've been looking to purchase one of these for a while now, and I saw this coin. Something scares me about the way that this is marketed, such as the following phrases,
"This is an estate find. I cannot authenticate this coin. I local coin dealer said, to authenticate this coin would cost $80.00. You make the decision by the picture, weight and diameter along with the website information. Your guess is as good as mine.
This is most likely a Reproduction, Conterfeit or Immatation.
There is no return on this item."

something about this coin scares me, but I'm tempted to bid. PLEASE HELP. I'd love your unbiased opinion. Thank You So Much In Advance.

What I see is a skinny rim with weak denticles. That says counterfeit all the way! :hammer:

Looks like a coin for Hobo! :thumb:

    Ribbit :)

I don't see it as thin but there is no way I'd buy it with those photo's.

Compare the rims & denticles to the pic you posted from CoinFacts! :kewl: It's easy to see the rims are too skinny and the denticles are too weak.

Oh the RIMS. I was thinking the rim. You mean the Rim on the face!

Probably...yes. But who can really tell with those photo's.

I was referring to the rim on the outer edge of the coin. ;)

they are both on the outer edge of the coin. But you don't mean, if I understand you right, the actual thickness of the coin

Rim = area from edge of coin to beginning of denticles

As to the thickness of the coin itself, it actually looks too thick. I had a counterfeit Morgan that was that way, so the weight would be closer to what it should be.

    Ribbit :)

I find it quite funny that he claims he bought it at an estate and cannot get it authenticated. His user name is "greatreprocoins". I am convinced he knows that the coins are bad.

The rims appear quite high to me, the shape of the numerals isnt correct. I would recommend comparing it side by side with a photo of a real one, and take note of the date. To me that is the most obvious discrepancy in the lettering.
