Umm, not as scarce??(whimper) Breen 1310, I think. "Close date, at least 28vars., Many in mint state from the Bank of New York keg" (but not this one, LOL)
I see Ruben is now over medicated. :goof: You should read the dosage instructions before taking, Ruben. Ribbit
I picked up a N14-O but it's seriously corroded. I can barely make out obverse details but the reverse ain't shabby. It didn't cost much so I filled a hole cheaply, until such time as I can afford a better one. Ribbit Ps: I got outsniped on a 17-I the other night. http://www.stacks.com/lotdetail.aspx?lsid=AN00000575&asid=AN00000066&lrid=AN00027605&side=R It wasn't quite as good as that one but it was close. :kewl:
The Bank used to have those on display at one time. I don't even know what they are doing with that building anymore, but it might be now used as a money museum on William and Wall Street. Ruben
No, this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190267483130&ssPageName=STRK:MEDW:IT&ih=009 Ribbit
If you know what to look for, that pic is easily good enough to attribute from. :kewl: Plus, the more you attribute, the easier it gets. I'm getting pretty good with Connecticuts now but I'm getting out sniped more frequently now. Ribbit
its still not that attractive. And the most you know about the grading and pricing the more your going to lose bids as you will bid the correct price. Ruben
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and had you read a little closer on the Stacks sale, you would have noticed they said that one was tied for the best example (or close to it) so that makes the Ebay one extremely gorgeous in my book. Ribbit
And that Stack's coin was purchased unattributed from a Chicago coin store.. bet the owner felt great when he got his copy of Coin World and it was on the cover! Hey Toad, the seller of the one you were outbid on noted that "Obverse: Fugio..Date and Mind Your Temper Visible" Certainly a unique motto in the Fugio assemblage, maybe that one will be on a magazine cover soon!!
That seller is interesting. It's a coin shop that has a helper list coins for them and the helper is not good with coppers. I've had to message them several times over misattributed coppers in the past but I've also bought from them a few times. As you noted, the helper can't even read the words on the coin! :goofer: It says what it's suppose to - MIND YOUR BUSINESS - but try telling that to their helper! Ribbit
