just purchased my oldest coin ever, and it is an error to boot!

    thought so when i was bidding on it, looks much better in hand, i believe someone stuttered with the hammer that day?? do not know if hand struck or on a press, but i thought would be a nice addition to my error collection..and from seeing others listed i got it at a good price as well..

    Nope, that’s the beauty of really old coins. You can touch them all you want.

    I still would not place my print on it oil, dirt, peanut butter & jelly so forth and so on! Nice coin keep it that way thanks for the post be safe...

    sorry I don’t agree finger prints on silver or copper will always be there unless a harsh cleaning

    That coin has likely been handled by 10s of thousands of people over its life time and then spent time in the ground. Holding it won’t hurt it.
