It took 3 long months, but i'm happy to say that my Groat of Henry V arrived. It had been stuck in Florida Customs for 2 and a half months. I finally used the USPS Missing Mail search and actually got a call from my local post office manager to say he "talked to some people & got it moving for me".

I've never had that happen. I think it had something to do with the form actually listing "antique coin" on it instead of "token" like usual or it may be because Florida PO is having many issues moving mail, I have comic books stuck as I type this and they are U.S. sent.

Either way, I was glad to have it move along and arrive safely.

I'm glad it finally showed up @Mat I would have been going nuts with the coin stuck in customs for so long.

Congrats on the nice groat of Henry V. His coins are always popular and can command a high price making him a tricky monarch to get.

    Thanks
It did, I had mentioned a few times in the "Saturday night" post I had been waiting for some time.

It's just not a good time to buy things from Flordia, at least from my experience.

Even ebay sellers from Flordia with things I have bought from that I have been talking too are frustrated & losing $.

Glad to see Henry V made it home!
Today I received a coin ordered April 8th. The trip from Germany to Texas was windy (google says I should use winding, but i like windy better). It was returned to the seller once, but made it on try #2.

Glad it came, it's a cool coin. I think I still have a coin in customs from like 3-4 years ago :D

It used to be that adding the word "antique" saved UK customers some import tax since antiques were taxed at a lower rate than modern collectibles. Does anyone know if that is still the case? Using the word "token" can potentially work out badly for the seller. US customs agents are sticklers for accuracy and can sometimes be downright unfriendly.

As for speed, International mail is often carried in the holds of passenger flights which are much less frequent these days due to the plague.
