So how smart or foolish am I? We shall see in this thread. Below is a Franklin that I have now submitted to three different grading services (the only time I've done such a thing). What do you think PCGS graded it? Also, you can watch the video of the coin here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BzJ6-nxAv0T/
LOL.........I've too much respect for you, dear friend. One can only continue the quest, even if he's tilting at windmills.........

Unc Details I like the coin... I think PCGS didn't liked the obverse and reverse scratches. What do I know just my thought.
Your pictures make it look AU-58. Your video makes it look proof? If you could convince them to put it in a PF-62 holder, then @ddddd is quite smart indeed. If they put it in an AU-58 holder, then ddddd is quite foolish indeed.
And the answer is that ddddd is foolish! I figured this Franklin was a 63 or 64. I was wrong as PCGS called it UNC Details - Damaged https://www.pcgs.com/cert/39810153 Now I have three different opinions: PCGS UNC Details Damaged NGC MS 62 Anacs AU 55 Should I round out the TPG opinions by sending it to ICG? @Insider

The coin is AU and that is what I would have put into the ICG computer. Probably AU-58. I think AU-55 is a little harsh due to the eye appeal of the toning but the coin is a long way from MS. I would have guessed that BOTH PCGS and NGC would have graded the coin at least MS-64 due to its color. I don't recall seeing many coins called "damaged" by PCGS so this one mystifies me. Perhaps they treat "modern" halves differently than Seated or Barber coins which are older. The NGC grade of MS-62 is what goes on today. AU's graded MS. However, at 62 it got no bump for color. The coin would sell for more money RAW. Finally, in this case I can justify/understand/explain the NGC and ANACS grade. IMHO, PCGS is out to lunch on this one.
That is fair. I would have been extremely happy with an AU 58+ (those pluses sure are desired on 58s). To me AU 58 and MS 63/64 were the only three options that made sense in terms of market grading. The eye appeal is well above average for this date (the 1950 isn't often found with such color).
They do several thousand a year (10s of thousands if you count environmental damage) that just likely mostly get cracked out before coming to market https://www.pcgs.com/Statistics/
