I believe the OP is looking for pop numbers, like from Track & Price.

Thomas Thank you for that link but I am searching for info that can only be found behind paywalls...numbers of large and small size notes reported. I can’t justify paying the subscription prices for info on on one charter. When I began collecting them I believe the Kelly book reported 13(?) total with 8 large and 5 small.....all $5. That was about 18 years ago. Just wondering if the population for them has increased since then.

Two titles on the bank, the later includes "and Trust Company" and only $5s were issued. 30 total of which 18 are large size 02 PBs.

FWIW, Kelly showed 21 notes of which 14 were large sized. In his census, all smalls and four large were of the second title. There is also a #1 reported for the second title. I think there might be an error in reporting to the NBNCensus, where a few smalls were assigned to the first title. No pix are provided of to support this however.

Also do not get me wrong...I understand that the websites witch have the info are doing a service And deserve to get paid for their time and effort. As a single charter collector it doesn’t make sense to get a subscription. I would gladly pay a fee or ala carte price for the stats of they offered it on a bank by bank basis

Stinats thank you for that. It looks like the number reported has grown. Is PB “plain back?”

here are the notes I have in my collection.

Of course. Given the charter date of 1919, the bank would have only issued series of 1902 plain backs and then series of 1929 smalls.

A small esoteric point. The census for this bank grew a bit faster than the total of all notes reported. I've seen this elsewhere, such as in the larger STL banks, where more common notes are being reported than previously, perhaps due to so much material (most of which is common) passing thru the internet. For instance, the number of notes reported for 4178 increased over 50% since Kelly while the overall census grew by around than 30%. Lots of exceptions of course, but I think a general takeaway confirmed the notion that relatively commoner banks are becoming more common over time.

    What fun!

I think the census for collectibles as a whole has increased since the internet and eBay. Many items that were once rare or scarce have since had many examples come out of the woodwork.

so would it be safe to say that there are 18 large and 12 small based on the reporting sites and barring errors?

Thank you so much. This has been a great help

Are 18 and 12 about bank logos (large and small) ? Thanks for another taste of history

I'm not sure I understand the question. A total of 30 notes have so far been reported to the various censuses on charter 11368 (altho undoubtedly others exist in the weeds, unreported), of which 18 are Series of 1902 Plain Backs (large size) and the rest are series of 1929 (small size).

The bank changed its title some time in the mid/late 1920s so a few of the large size and all the smalls have the second title which included "and Trust Company." I've not researched the bank but assume that the new title reflected the addition of trust powers to its product line resulting in the longer title.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks again for all the assistance. I just sent the four ungraded notes to PMG, not so much for the grades but rather to encapsulate and protect them. I am tempted every day to add more to my collection from this bank, as there are two different examples on eBay, both overpriced in my opinion.

I am also going to figure out where in town the bank was and see what structure is there now.
