I'm curious as to why the color on these 2 pennys the 1956 and the 1958 the two top left look so different than any other wheat pennys I own. The top right is also a 56 but doesn't look like the other. Any help would be appreciated
May have been on the dashboard baking in the summer heat... May have been in a sweaty pocket..... Anything and everything affects the manner in which copper tones..... If only they could speak.
Copper Cents and Copper plated zinc cents tone depending the environment they were found in. Environmental toning is a normal proccess. Here is a portrait of Lincoln made using different toned pennies.
