    OBV: Alexander I Balas bust, facing right wearing diadem and radiate crown. One diadem end over shoulder, one flying up behind head. Plain border.
    REV: Zeus seated on throne, facing left, feet crossed. Holds eagle in outstreached right hand and staff in left. Legend to right: [ΒΑΣ]ΙΛΕΩΣ; to left: [ΑΛ]ΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ. ΔΙ monogrtam under throne. ΗΡ monogram in exergue. Plain border.

    Refs: SC-1854a = CSE-0562 (THIS); See also SNG Israel-1578-1581.
    Provenance: Ex Arthur Houghton collection. This coin illustrated in "Coins of the Seleucid Empire" #562.
    Note: Usual commercial sources of this coin are: Beirut & Jerusalem. This coin features an arrangement of the diadem ends that is characteristic of northern Syria, but the provenances of most specimens points to the south.

    I was hoping someone would post to that request. I am not aware of a specific victory later than the Samarata Devicta type and wondered if there was one.
