I am quite happy with it and personally compared to what else is out there think it was a steal for the money . Most Au 53 I see or had looked at where no where near as nice . This has the dark edge toning but tons of luster where as what else I have seen in the grade looks pretty beat up or super dull . So I’m happy . It is not really that dark to be honest it’s not black or dull and is incased so if it does get worse I’m sure I’ll be long gone . I also don’t plan on dropping 1500 to 1900 for a marginally better example
Now this is the way you and everyone should feel about any purchase. I've always wondered why people ask, 'do you like my new car? ' or 'what do you think of my 1909 S VDB?'. I didn't buy these things for some else or for someone else's approval. I bought them for me. I don't need anyone's validation for my likes. IMO when I see these types of threads, asking for others opinions, the first thing that comes to mind is buyers remorse. It's one thing to say you just picked up this coin and you wanted to share it with everyone here, but it's another thing entirely when someone says GTG, or what do you think about this coin. One says you're proud of your purchase, the other says can y'all validate the purchase I made. If you bought something and are happy with your purchase there should be no reason to ask for others opinions. The time for opinions should be before you made the purchase, not after. JMO, YMMV
Exactly! I was going to say, "61, in my horse's ass!" Why do they play these games? Adjust their prices, if they have to, but don't reinvent how we grade.
You ain’t just whistelin’ Dixie. That coin is at least a 63, possibly even a 64 on a good day. The price on the 84s definitely epitomizes market grading, given the conditional rarity. I have seen many MS specimens, but have never seen any graded higher than 63 in hand. Total bull hockey!!
