Well bummer, photos are okay but I was curious on trying a different approach to capture the essence of the coins.
I watched it. My computer hasn't blown up. Wait, no, where's that smoke coming from? LOL Pretty coins, though since they're all mostly white and all MS64 and all 1878, they all look pretty much the same. But I can get why you'd want to produce a video to show the cartwheel luster on those. I'd go with an animated GIF instead, however. Or at least ditch the Star Wars theme and go with a silent video.
Nah, I get it. And it works. Full marks for trying something new. I think most people would find static images preferable, however. Even my suggestion of an animated GIF might not go over so well, unless it's one of those GIFs you can click to start, rather than one that's moving around all the time. (So far that latter is all I know how to do. They can get tiresome, I know.) So like you, I've tinkered around a bit and came up with something... different. Not 100% effective, but fun to try. I don't blame you for experimenting. I'm still doing that myself. Work in progress, y'know. See if this thing moving around makes you woozy... Another MS64, just like your Morgans, only not quite as lustrous. But it's 320 years old. (1700 Austria 3-kreuzer piece of Leopold the Hogmouth). OK, I won't hijack your video thread with my wobbling GIFs anymore. Y'know, if you uploaded your video in the OP to YouTube, and embedded it here, folks could watch it without entering a password.
Gotcha, the gifs are neat, how do you turn images into gifs? I like it. I just think when looking at coins being able to see from different angles and see the luster helps in assessing grade and things like that. And I can ditch the music was just trying to eliminate background noise and I don’t care for talking haha
I think I can do it without a password. Here is the 1879 one. It has more music but it is not a suspect on the link.
There are a lot of easy to use GIF-making apps nowadays. I have one called GIF Studio on my phone. Yeah, I get what you mean about eliminating background noise. I'm apparently a mouth-breather and you can always hear that in my videos. I've done some with music but more often just blanked out the sound altogether. Then I discovered GIFs. I still have a ways to go in learning to make and edit them, however. Your video seems a little clearer than my GIFs. I think I lost some image clarity in the transitions. There might or might not be a way to fix that. Like you, I'm just tinkering around and still learning.
I like tinkering, i do know just plain photos are hard for me to capture the coin in detail and luster. I will have to check out the gif app and give it a whirl.
Feel free to post further experimentation here. Maybe I will do the same, if I can figure out how to make a click-to-start GIF instead of an always-on one. (Haven't seen that option in my GIF Studio app.)
