The National Football League (NFL) team the Washington Redskins is dropping it's team name and it's logo which was copied from the United States Indian Head or Buffalo nickel obverse.

The team is looking for a new name, possibly they can flip the coin over.

Or possibly, 'cave in to so called political correctness'......money talks so the owner will cave in.

Quite frankly, many of my native American friends see no foul with the current logo......

If they flip the coin over, then it's still racist because the Buffalo is a symbol of white oppression.

That was sarcastic, but is probably not far from that the MMS sill try to force down our throats.

Many of these logos are pretty respectful and portray the Natives in a proud fashion. The extreme minority somehow has so much power that they can destroy this. What a shame.

As for the reverse, it's already been taken (name) by a team in upstate NY.

They are changing their name. So it follows the logo will have to change. It is not the logo that is offensive to some in this case.

I don't know, will they have to change the name of Ritz crackers?

I need to scramble to change all those Cherokee badges to "Various Native American Tribes in the Southeast Residing in the Modern States of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Others"

that's going to be a real tough badge to adhere on my fenders..

We will have to retire the word "cracker" from English vocabulary because it is offensive, regardless of the context.

And all of my Native American code talker medals.........I guess they was just non-discript folks......unworthy of recognition for what they contributed........lets tear down another monument......

I can't wait for them to try to tear down the Iwo Jima Memorial, which conspicuously features Ira Hayes, a Pima Indian.

Can you imagine how many vets they would have to go through? Me being one.
