Woe to all of us. Ruining coins before they are released and likely taking a cue from Canada. Sorry, but I have no use for colorized coins of any kind no matter how attractive they may be. But each to their own.
They can come out really nice, but the design has to be nice to begin with which in this case it is not
It's a crazy world nowadays as I've seen some of the colorized coins from other countries and private mints as well! Here's one from the Germania Mint, I call it the puberty issue!
Professional sports players are showing themselves as very unpatriotic. I don't think they should get any recognition. The rest of my thought here is too political to complete.
Not for me. But if a youngster picks one up and starts a Franklin set because of them, is that not a good thing?
Ugh those colorized coins are always ugly. Do you think the color will wear away and in 50 years the ones with full color will be more valuable, sort of like the ink on stamps or comics?
I don't like colorized coins...and crazy that a piece about colored coins doesn't show the coin in color....
Agreed that colorized coins aren’t for me either. Nor do I care for big movie screens during my church service. But us old folks are jaded a bit I think. I believe @Long Beard is dead on target. If a cartoonish coin will spark a young persons interest in numismatics, then its a good thing.
I do not think they actually showed a picture of the colorized version. The mint may not have released a picture of that yet.
