For all you CRH there may be a place to dump your change without any fees, I looked for a thread and couldn't find any so here I go. I was at my walmart on Monday and the girls no me well there Glenda approached me and ask me if I still had a bunch of change and of course I replied yes. I guess with the change shortage my local walmart was running out of change, they bought $1863.00 from me with without any fees. So I guess if you are having a problem dumping your coins you might want to check with your local Walmart. Ps. There not selling any though. Lol
I just go to my bank and give them the rolls I just went through. In exchange I get new rolls to go through. It cost me nothing and I was going there anyway.
I understand but I didn't have to roll mine that's why I had so much change I refuse to roll coins. Lol
Your local Wal-Mart bought $1863.00 in change? How long did it take for all that change to be counted? Seems to me it's better, faster and more accurate to roll it and deal with the bank.
Wonder if there will be enough of a "quarter shortage" that merchants will start accepting and giving out half-dollars again...
the other day at a gulf station saw the sign saying "due to a nationwide coin shortage" so it has hit ct, it was in waterbury, ct...
Because we have been with our bank for more than 27 years they advised us to call and place an order for the boxed coins we prefer and they will have them ready for us when we arrive. Easier for them to retrieve them from the vault and advise us whether the coins are available or not. So far we have not had to wait for an order thank goodness.
Good suggestion, but when this craziness is over, what then? Most credit unions I know of, will accept your loose coins, if you are a member. In fact one here in my local town has a CoinStar in the lobby that will deposit your dump directly into your account, no fees.
Well I live in a small town 1 bank that's it they use to not charge, but about 2 or 3 years ago they started charging a fee.
My bank is now loaded for bear........except for cents. I was told that I could have all of the nickels, dimes and quarters that I wanted, but "$25 boxes of pennies are totally out of the question".
