I never really got into these dollars, but my options- well, there weren’t any options! I know these dollars are supposed to weigh around 8.1g, so I want to ask is 7.72g considered to be okay for this coin? Or did I just find a million dollar DOLLAR?!!! Lol! Any thoughts would be appreciated. Please and thank you! Oh- also- I didn’t have anything to measure this with me, so I used some other coins and the size seems right, but it might be just slightly thinner. And the edge seems to be different also than the others! And I weighed it atleast 10 times!
Spec is 8.1 grams +/- .3 grams so it can have a rage of 7.8 to 8.4 grams and still be within legal tolerance. Your coin is .08 grams too light. Technically it is an error, but the amount out of tolerance is too small to be worth a significant premium. I normally consider a coin to have to be .3 to .4 grams out of tolerance before an error collector will have serious interest. You find one that's 7.5 grams or less, or over 8.7 grams it would probably be worth something.
