I received this bill from a person I know. They know nothing about what this is or how they got it. Most likely a hand down from their grandparents to their parents to them. I don't know anything about it either but I told them I would try to figure what is it and its worth. So... 1) What exactly is this? 2) What is its rarity, or value? 3) What is the history behind this item? Of course any other information would be greatly appreciated. As you can see in the image I took the last two numbers out of the four number sequence. Also there is nothing on the back of this bill if you were wondering. I will PM the last numbers to you after I have gotten some information on this. Mr. JonDoe... From what I can see it is a very small image of an Obsolete $1000 note. Please rescan the image so we can see better detail and the entire note needs to be larger! Doing this will allow 2 things..one the verify that it is not a counterfiet and 2nd..get more responses! with all the foxing on it and looking at the largest image thats is selectable...it looks like a Parchment Paper Replica...However, I am not sure due to the size of the image. I am not exactly sure how to make it bigger but to make it bigger you would have to click the download link and open with an application that has a zoom feature. I'll try to edit the document to make it to show bigger.

You blocked out the last two numbers in the serial numbers. I bet they are 94 to give a complete serial number of 8894. This is a well-known copy of this note. It is on Crutchfields list of bogus notes. http://www.crutchwilliams.com/BogusCSA_RoTx.html
I agree that it is a replica as well. I have the same note I got as a souvenir when I was on a school trip in Virginia when I was younger.
