LordM Giveaway #41 (pick your prize)

This giveaway is now CLOSED. Winner was announced in Post #143.

This giveaway is brought to you by my friends Teddy & Lucy. (Which of them won the tug-of-war over the patriotic chewy toy? Dunno. I'll have to ask ladymarcovan, who took the picture.)

Hi, and welcome to the latest giveaway.

    To enter:

    1. Put the words "entry post" at the top of your first (and only your first) post to this thread. You can make as many conversational posts as you like, but only one entry post per member.

    2. Add something else that is coin-related to your entry post. It can be anything you want, and does not need to include a photo. It just has to be coin-related somehow. Tokens, medals, paper money, etc. are also fine.

The winner of the random drawing will get to choose one prize of up to $25 value from my Pick Bin. This is totally free with no shipping charge, worldwide.

Click the picture below and allow the linked page several seconds to load.

    (*It can be
reallllly slow at first, but don't give up! It works... eventually. )

My pick is: United States: silver proof Washington quarter, 1962, ANACS PF65
I choose this one as it is my birthyear and I don't have a proof quarter for that year yet.
Many thanks for the opportunity to get one.

Oh, that reminds me. I've got a '62 proof nickel, too (PCGS PR65), which I just added to the Pick Bin as well. There's quite a bit of new stuff which has not yet been added to the Pick Bin, but I should have that done by the time the drawing rolls around.

Thanks once again for the opportunity, @lordmarcovan. Here's hoping my luck can only improve after I wrecked my car yesterday. On the bright side, here is an ancient coin I am currently waiting for from eBay.

    1853 Silver Quarter.
I wish I would've bought one of the Gold Buffalo's, but I don't like the look. I prefer the mirrored proof look.

OK. Frustration time. My MacBook is not cooperating. Tried to post a photo of one of the Norwegian 1942 London Issue coins I recently acquired. A photo of a saw blade I sold on eBay popped up and was posted before I realized it. I've tried deleting it with no luck. Perhaps you'll consider the saw blade as the tool responsible for some of the "error coins" posted on CT. Or, just please ignore the photo, folks.

A word about the London issue coins. Haakon VII, King of Norway at the time of the German invasion and occupation of Norway, escaped to Great Britain with his family and several other government officials. The story of that escape (and how Norway's gold reserves made it out of the country) are fascinating stories. Three denominations were coined in London in 1942: 10, 25 and 50 øre. All but around 10,000 examples of each denomination were melted. I have obtained all three, now in NGC slabs, and just obtained another 10 øre at a "reasonable" price, which will be sent to NGC, or sent to a friend in Norway to be sold.

Thanks Rob! I would like to reserve my pick until the drawing if I'm that lucky.
I've been dancing all over the place between ancients and modern silver. Well, then again the nicer buffalo nickels are alluring me too.

Too many choices makes my brain ache. I recently have been enthralled with commemoratives so I'd probably choose the Rushmore half dollar.
Thanks again for these contests Rob. The thought of winning a nice coin is always a thrill for me.

Yes, that's fine. Y'all may wait until the end to pick your prize, if you win. Or change your mind at any time.

In some ways that might be best, since my Pick Bin coins are subject to prior sale (occasionally). And I'll likely be adding more goodies to choose from by the time this contest ends.
