I got some coin rolls at the bank, came home, settled in and started going
through a few coin rolls. I grabbed a nickel roll and noticed a shiny nickel
on one end of the coin roll, then I went to the other end to open it up and
    I saw this....A cent....At the end of a nickel roll....I took a picture but I have
not gone through the roll yet. After I saw the cent I shook my head and went
to get my camera. Anyone else every had this happen to them? Oh, this
certainly appears to be machine rolled. NICKEL PENNY2.jpg NICKEL PENNY.jpg

    Dimes in cent rolls
    Nickels in quarter rolls
Never a cent in a nickel roll though.
    Part of the game.

you'd think if someone was deliberately trying to cheat they would at least be smart enough to hide it in the middle of the roll. ;)

About 6 years ago, I got a roll of quarters from my BoA branch. It contained a nickel, so I returned to the bank later that day and asked for the 20c I was shorted. The teller seemed dumbfounded that I would ask for 20c, but she reluctantly gave it to me. About 1-1/2 years later, this branch closed its doors. ~ Chris

Don't feel bad @SmokinJoe. I once found a guitar pick inside a loomis half dollar roll.

I didn't realize that margins were that tight in the banking industry!!

Why should I feel guilty? The teller kept her job for another 1-1/2 years, didn't she?

Your right furryfrog, Part of the game...( Wake up SmokinJoe!! ) I lost 4 cents...Wowww..
:dead:.....Although...Maybe I should have done what cpm9ball did and demand my
4 cents back....But to late now....I know!....Next time I go to the bank I will go
on a very busy day and open my coin rolls in front of the teller so I can count them.
    Yeah....

Once or twice, I've had a teller miscount and give me too much money, and I returned the overage immediately. It doesn't matter if it is $1, $5 or $20. It's not mine. ~ Chris

I had a teller at the drive in do the same thing. She argued with me stating the bank does not make mistakes. I had to park, go inside and speak to a manager in order to give the bank back its three dollars and some odd cents.

I went to go withdraw some unemployment funds from an ATM at a Bank of America last week.

Right as I walked up to the ATM approximately $200 was dispensed from it. This money was from whomever used the ATM before me. I took out the money along with a receipt that was printed and set it to the side. Then I withdrew some funds from my unemployment account.

No one came over to claim this money while I was at the ATM.

I was not wearing a mask at the ATM so I walked to my car with the $$$, put a mask on and then walked into the bank and turned it in. The employee inside was thankful that I turned in these funds. Then I walked outside of the bank and left.

About 50 years ago, I cashed two $50 traveler's checks; the teller gave me two $100 bills. Took a while to convince her she had made a mistake. [I am in the fortunate position where having another $100 would make no difference in my life. At the time, $100 was probably a week's pay for a bank teller.]
