Hi Everyone, I have not yet had the pleasure of bidding in an HD Rauch auction before, so I wanted to see if any fellow U.S. based CT'ers had used their services before and would recommend them? I see on their site it is only 20 euros to ship to the US which seems like a pretty darn good deal! Thanks in advance. Res
I had a very bad experience with them which I outlined here on CT. I had won an auction and went to their site to pay. I saw the word paypal highlighted, clicked on it, saw a name of the paypal recipient with HD Rauch in its name, and sent the payment. After a while I emailed to check that they had received my payment. Long story short, my payment went to someone in France who had hacked their site. The bad part is that this had happened twice before, and they had not corrected the problem. I paid a second time for the coin I won, but never got a refund from Rauch for the first, diverted payment. I thought they handled it very unprofessionally and told them so. I did like the coin, though.
If I don't know them I don't buy! I would check them out before purchase not after. Good luck in the future
I have bought coins in Rauch auctions for over 20 years and I have never had any problems. Mr. Rauch is not so young anymore and it is true they are a laggard in IT matters.
