My Split War Nickel

    I posted this over a year ago but since I've done my 2 recent split planchets and we have a lot of newer members I though I should post this again.

    This was my first split planchet coin and the only one that I have both halves. It's ANACS graded.

    Thanks, glad to hear that. I have no intentions of cracking them out for any reason. Unlike the way they reference each other and it's well done.

    Pretty cool. Thanks for posting them. I personally haven't seen many mated splits like that.

    It was one of those I saw and the only thing I could think of was, "I GOTTA HAVE THAT!!" Now I do. :)

    I have the back of a silver nickel... looks like a split as well. just stumbled across this coin and recognized the "P" over the capital building. Are there clear identifications for a post mint split.... mine looks like it was in circulation for sometime
