    Thanks! :)

All layers in that template were created from scratch using various Photoshop Elements tools.

@Fugio1 and anyone else who is interested in this template, I just cleaned it up a bit and this may give you better guidance for your own.

For this screen shot I put placeholder layers for the coin and its reflection. Note that the "Light" layer is less than 100% opacity, keeping the fake light from being too harsh.

Just for fun I dropped a couple of them into the reflection template. Removing the background of your images would have been too time-consuming so I used remove.bg, which returns a small picture unless you pay, so the overall final image size isn't as big as I'd like.

I know fancy backgrounds aren't universally loved (coughDougcough :D) but I like the presentation :).

@TIF Thank you so much for doing that for me. You have helped me so much with just the taking of the pics of my coins that I am finally feeling good about my pics. I am very very grateful for your help on that. I love the images you did for me here on this post and really want to tell you thank you again so much!
The process you have for doing this type of image is just awesome. Maybe with about a hundred tries I will be able to figure it out you have motivated me so much on taking pics and now this.

Attempt nummero uno. (Well, after 60 something tries that is). I just can't figure out how to make the shadow more faded at the edges...

Maybe this is inappropriate for I am an interloper here, but I would like to say that I think it is admirable for you to take the time to express your gratitude to @TIF so eloquently. She is a real treasure because of her great knowledge relating to photo editing - and her willingness to share and impart that knowledge to others. Too often the efforts of CT members like TIF are not acknowledged or appreciated. Thank you again for your comments.

Which editing program are you using? Maybe I can walk you through it.

Only if it's not too much trouble! I'm using pixl photo editor. It's similar to photoshop, but I must admit I do not know if both have the same possibilities. Probably not.

Looks like Pixlr doesn't have the function I used. I tried several things and thought I had a way for you to do it by using the Blur function after drawing a shape but for some reason it doesn't work if the rest of that layer is transparent (it works if there is a color). Weird. There may still be a way but perhaps the easiest thing is for me to share the feathered-edge shadow layer from my template... if CoinTalk will allow uploading of the .png file (I know it won't allow the .psd file). Pixlr will let you upload .png and .psd files.

    CoinShadow.png

The background of this shadow should be transparent so you can load it into your template and adjust the size and shape as desired. (This is a .png file)

Edited to add: Hmm, to make sure this type of file would look right I right-clicked and saved the attachment and dropped it into a new Pixlr template. It looks stair-steppy. Not good. So much for that! :(

Edited again with better news: Salvage procedure: use the above .png file and once you've dropped it into Pixlr you can use the Blur function to successfully feather the edges :). Filter > Details > Blur; use the slider as desired.
